Finding yourself looking for midlife career change ideas? With the pandemic worldwide, this is the perfect time to look for a career change. Almost everyone is in a similar situation. This will require all of us to think outside the box. The conventional jobs are still available but with mandatory social distancing making it challenging for everyone to return to work. Local small businesses with physical presence find themselves struggling to stay open.
Job Ideas
We all turn to online jobs. There are two directions: work for yourself or work for others. Which would you choose? Here are a handful of related articles with ideas for working online and work for others:

All the jobs list above are possibly temporary jobs to transition you to your career goal or it may be your final career goal. As I learn from the past year 2020 with the COVID19, nothing is permanent. The important thing is to understand yourself and listen to your instincts.
What is Your Mindset?
If you are reading this article, you may be 40 and older. You have lots of practical experiences but finding yourself jumping around everywhere and not sure which experience will bring you the most money. I understand. I was there as well. For me, it was like running a treadmill and never get to the destination. I finally gave in and picked one. I had way too many foot in too many doors. I was managing real estates, teaching gymnastics, volunteering with PTAs, demonstrating Vietnamese cooking, managing websites, health screening for Quest Diagnostics, manufacturing peanut sauces, interpreting Vietnamese, and blogging as an affiliate marketer. That was quite a lot. You can probably visualize that I was all over the place. I was not able to take on anything seriously.
Getting my mindset in achieving success is very important to me. I was struggling with self-doubts. Because of that, I was too afraid to get off the treadmill. Do you struggle also? Here are a few articles you may find helpful to pull yourself out of the doubts:

How Much Can We Endure?
It only took me 10 to 15 years before I said “Enough is enough”. I had to choose. I just need to pick a direction and go with it. I realize self-esteem is a big part of my success. I learn to love, accept, and forgive myself in order to move forward. The human mind is amazing. Everything starts with a thought. If you start with a small negative thought, then it will build on and your mind will find other negative thoughts to compliment or to prove that you are right to think those thoughts. You can imagine how big that negative thought becomes by the end of the month and then years. From the thoughts, manifest your realities. Hence, the law of attraction. The same principle applies to positive thoughts.
There are no right or wrong answers. Why don’t we focus on something that could benefit us rather than hurt us? Again everything starts with just a thought and this time it will be a positive one, right? Well enough of that. I can go on and on with this topic.
Choose a Direction
My point was that I picked a direction for me. I choose to do business for myself as a Vietnamese Interpreter first and foremost to bring the immediate money which is welcomed. My second was managing my websites and write articles in between my interpreting sessions. COVID19 prevents the hands-on demonstrations for Vietnamese food so that helped with a deciding factor. I am less stress and now I have a better focus on moving forward.
If you have a job now, stay with it but create time a few hours each day to work on your own business. I would suggest looking into affiliate marketing. Not familiar with affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a lucrative job with low overhead costs. There are affiliate marketers who are successful at 3 months, some at 6 months, some at 1 to 2 years. There is no set time before you make money. It all depends on how much time you are willing to put into it.
There two ways to learn and become an affiliate marketer. You can do your own research and find your way through searching on the internet or find a company or a program that will guide you through the process. The do it yourself way will take time with learning curve through trials and errors while finding a program to assist will yield a shorter learning curve.
Build your Business
There are plenty of programs out there to assist. I found the most effective program hands down is Wealthy Affiliate (WA).

Right now is the best time to start. What can you do as your own business? What are you really good at? Are you excellent at brewing beer? Are you are a very good baker? or maybe you may want to explore the hobby that you are curious about. Look for a niche that interests you. You don’t have to be an expert to start learning and sharing. The more you share then the more you learn and vice versa. Create a website and start sharing your passion or hobby of how to make it or write reviews on products that interest you. The more you write the more ideas will come to you.
In addition to creating a beautiful website with amazing content, we also want to drive traffic to the website using SEO and keywords. WA has training that will show you how to do all that and host your website as well. I also love that there are experienced affiliate marketers who are successful available to answer any questions. They are genuinely helpful and easy to talk to. The WA community rocks with like-minded individuals supporting each other to succeed.
